Field Service Technician

We are seeking a flexible, self-starter to perform training, installation and calibration of our mechanical testing systems. This dynamic position offers ample opportunity to travel and work with advanced technologies and a wide variety of people.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform installations of test systems, specifically focusing on training on our WinTest software and general testing techniques
  • Follow-up with customers in need of technical or software support
  • Perform on-site technical services, including troubleshooting and completing electrical repairs and replacing mechanical parts
  • Perform occasional field calibrations on Bose ElectroForce and other test systems
  • Completing other production tasks: checkout tests, factory calibration and/or electro-mechanical assembly depending on skills and proficiencies.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Excellent training and communication skills and proven ability to work well with a variety of customers in various environments
  • Strong technical problem solving skills and ability to understand Bose-Electroforce technologies
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical & electrical assembly drawings and schematics
  • Understanding of test and engineering/physics fundamentals, controls experience a plus
  • Basic electronics production skills and experience (crimping, soldering) is a plus
  • Basic PC skills; Excel, any applicable test software
  • Comfortable with regional or national traveling (70-85%).

Electromechanical Technician II

The position will provide quality mechanical test products to customers through final assembly, integration, calibration, and checkout by communicating with project managers and design engineers to ensure customer requirements are met. Complete and verify all processes and procedures are accurately followed per the Bose ESG Quality Management System.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform electro-mechanical Assembly, Integration, Check Out, Calibration, and Shipping duties and processes
  • Interface with Project Managers, Software Engineer and Quality Assurance Manager to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Perform final validation tests and QA check
  • Fill out necessary forms (Shipping, Calibration, Change Orders, MRNs etc.)
  • Communicate with engineering to resolve manufacturing and customer issues
  • Maintain records of customer calibrations
  • Assist in maintaining various reports and data
  • Occasional customer support, Including, limited travel.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • 2 year related technical degree or 5 years equivalent work experience
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings
  • Understanding of mechanical assembly practices, pneumatics, electro-magnetic and electronic fundamentals
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Strong attention to details and basic computer skills (Excel,Word,email)
  • Good communications skills and ability to work within a team
  • Ability to work well with a variety of customers in various environments.
