Understanding the dynamic behavior of viscoelastic materials in response to large deflections, step loading or small amplitude vibration is important for many types of designs including engine mounts, vibration isolation, noise attenuation, sporting equipment, medical devices, and more. To characterize the material, a combination of the following tests may be used: Large Strain (HyperElasticity) testing, Stress Relaxation (Equilibrium Stress Strain Curves), and Dynamic Materials Characterization. To meet the needs of these tests, the test system should have a wide performance envelope ranging from constant to over one hundred Hz. The ElectroForce® series of test instruments provide a broad range of performance to meet these requirements.
